Emergency: Call 110

For crimes in progress, accidents, or immediate danger, call 110. Say 'Keisatsu wo yonde kudasai' (警察を呼んでください - Please call the police). Interpreter services are available.

Visit the nearest police box (交番 Koban)

For non-emergencies (lost items, reporting a crime after the fact), go to the nearest Koban. Staff are usually helpful. Use your translation app if needed.

Foreign Affairs Division

Major police stations have a Foreign Affairs Division (外事課) that can assist foreign nationals with translation.
